Harindra singh Dainik india news lucknow:The Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker, Satish Mahana, has said that while we are benefiting from nature, what contribution are we making towards it? There is no consideration on this matter. There is a need to participate in finding solutions to the growing problems and become a partner in protecting and preserving nature, rather than making it a problem. These were the views expressed by Mahana during the two-day National Climate Conference 2023, organized by the Indira Gandhi National Center for the Arts. He mentioned that it is necessary to pay attention to all aspects related to the conservation and protection of nature. Protecting and preserving nature is not a favor but our responsibility. Our existence depends on how we coordinate with nature, and only then can we save the environment.
Mahana further added that how far is it appropriate to infringe upon nature’s rights and get everything from it? Thinking about this question can lead to the solution of the problem. It is necessary to think about how much right we have on nature. Ever since humans stopped respecting nature, our activities have started affecting it adversely. Previously, we used to worship trees, plants, and the Ganges river. But gradually, we are forgetting everything. As long as we worshipped the Ganges River, she nurtured and showered bliss upon us , but ever since we began to mistreat her it lead a toll on the holy river. If we talk about that era when we used to worship trees and plants, nature used to provide good oxygen levels, and the environment was good.
Mahana expressed concern about the changing nature of the environment and said that we should learn not only to take from nature, but also to give something back. Our behavior has become such that we want to gain everything in changing times. However, if we start thinking about our rights over nature, we can solve the problem. Mahana said that we should also think about how much contribution we have towards nature and how the coming generations can benefit from it. We cannot all bring about change, but if we try to solve the problem, there is a possibility of everything changing. In the program, besides the central Minister of State for Environment, Ashwini Kumar Choubey, state forest minister Arun Kumar Saksena, Uttarakhand forest minister Subodh Uniyal and Maharashtra forest minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, many other dignitaries and officials were present.
