Dainik india news new Delhi.Collective Action Against Poverty (CAAP)’s Malihabad chapter has achieved significant success in enhancing access to government welfare schemes across four villages. In recent months, CAAP has worked closely with government officials and community leaders to understand local residents’ challenges and connect them with essential schemes.

CAAP began its efforts through a series of strategic meetings with administrative officers including Block Development Officer (BDO) Ravindra Mishra, Assistant Development Officer (Agriculture) Manvendra Singh, Chief Medical Officer Apoorva Bhatnagar, and Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Jia Shyam. The initiative was carried out under the guidance of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ankit Kumar and Jitendra Pratap Singh, Board Member and Advisor (National President, Rashtriya Sanatan Mahasangh), while former SDMs Gunjita Agarwal and Saurabh Singh also extended vital support to the organisation.

At the village level, CAAP established strong collaborations with local leadership including village heads Divya Singh and Akhilesh Singh (Purva), Ajay (Dularmau), Sushila Yadav (Tilsua), Beena Kanojia (Didemau), and Secretary Amrita Nigam (Didemau). In the health sector, significant contributions came from ASHA Coordinator BCPM Mitlesh Singh and ASHA workers – Neetu Singh, Mitlesh Kumari (Didemau), Urmila (Dularmau), Rekha Rawat, Pushpa Devi (Tilsua), Poonam Nigam, and Gayatri Verma (Purva).

Additionally, Revenue Inspector Kalideen Gupta, Advocate Sharik Shamim Khan, and Panchayat Assistants – Rahul Gautam, Anju Rawat, and Nancy Pal – also extended their cooperation to the organisation. Plans are underway to establish a “CAAP Taskforce Malihabad” by involving all these stakeholders along with CAAP Board Member Jitendra Pratap Singh.
Field activities and surveys commenced on 23 January 2025, during which CAAP teams visited approximately 1,350 households across the four villages. Regular consultations were held with Panchayat Assistants and local leaders to assess the reach of various government schemes. Under a focused data collection initiative centred on the AWAS scheme, around 150 families were surveyed under the leadership of CAAP Project Manager Anusha Chilagni, with active participation from local ASHA workers.
CAAP’s analysis identified old-age pension, widow pension, disability pension, PM-JAY, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, and Kanya Sumangala Yojana as priority schemes requiring greater awareness and access within the community. The current focus is on disseminating information related to eligibility criteria, required documents, and application procedures for these schemes.
In the upcoming phase, a comprehensive survey of all 1,350+ households in these villages will be conducted to assess eligibility and enrolment status. Extensive awareness campaigns will also be undertaken to ensure families are informed about available schemes.
These efforts will culminate in the organisation of enrolment camps, where eligible beneficiaries will receive guidance and on-the-spot assistance to apply for schemes. The objective is to enhance community participation and establish stronger links between the government and the people.
Through these sustained efforts, CAAP is moving towards its goal of empowering rural communities, removing barriers to accessing welfare schemes, and strengthening institutional and government support systems.
Jitendra Pratap Singh, Board Member and Advisor (National President, Rashtriya Sanatan Mahasangh), extended his heartfelt gratitude to all supporters and team members for successfully facilitating and implementing this programme.
