He said that this year’s National Doctors’ Day theme, ‘Healing Hands, Caring Hearts’, aptly reflects the dedication of doctors who, with their knowledge, hard work, and compassion, bring the gift of life to countless families every day.

Singh highlighted that in Sanatan culture, physicians (vaidyas) are revered as divine. From Ayurveda legends like Sushruta and Charaka to modern medical practitioners, India’s medical systems have guided the world towards health. He lauded initiatives like Ayushman Bharat, Jan Aushadhi Kendras, and the Digital Health Mission for expanding access to affordable healthcare.

He also acknowledged the extraordinary contribution of doctors as ‘Corona Warriors’ during the pandemic, saying their sacrifices will never be forgotten. Strengthening rural medical infrastructure is the need of the hour to realise “Healthy Villages – Healthy India,” he added.

Singh said, “Compassionate doctors, with their patience, kindness, and selfless service, are true nation builders. They stand apart from all other professions and it is our duty to honour these Healing Hands and Caring Hearts.”
