“Self-Reliant India” Slogan Echoes in Swadeshi Jagran Manch’s ‘Swadeshi Jan Jagran March’

Dainik India news,Lucknow – On Sunday, August 10, the Swadeshi Jagran Manch staged a powerful protest in the heart of Lucknow, calling for a complete boycott of foreign goods and a nationwide embrace of Indian-made products. The ‘Swadeshi Jan Jagran March’ began from lohiya nagar Tiraha in Vikas Nagar and concluded at Rani Laxmibai Sector Tiraha, where a symbolic ‘Holika Dahan’ of foreign goods and the burning of an effigy labeled ‘TOP’ took place.

Organized under the banner of Swadeshi Jagran Manch, Awadh Prant, in association with the Bharatiya Jan Udyog Vyapar Mandal and allied trade bodies, the event saw participation from prominent figures including Amritesh Kumar Mrityunjay, Hanumat Singh, Amit Singh, Amit Agarwal, Kailash Chand Shah, Kanhaiya Lal Verma, Premchand, Advocate Jitendra Singh, Hemraj, Naveen Chandra Gupta, Ashish Sharma, Abhishek, Reena Gupta, Anjali Singh, Narendra Singh Devdi (BJP Mandal President), Dharmendra Mishra,Harindra Singh,GN Bhatt, Devjeet Pandey, Shivpal Singh, Neelima Tripathi, Diwakar Gupta, Pawan Parashar, Chandrakar Trivedi, Harishchandra Pandey, Hanuman Pandey, BN Shukla, along with respected businessmen and representatives from various like-minded organizations.

During the event, participants took a solemn pledge to boycott foreign goods and encourage their families and acquaintances to switch entirely to Swadeshi products. Speakers emphasized that India’s economic future depends on the widespread adoption of indigenous goods, which would strengthen local industries, boost employment, and make the nation truly self-reliant.

Several traders vocally demanded a ban on online platforms like Amazon and Flipkart, accusing them of threatening the very survival of small-scale businesses. They urged the public to stop purchasing from these companies immediately.

The protest reached a dramatic high when, after setting fire to an effigy of “Vikram,” women in the Vikas Nagar area of Uttar Pradesh’s capital, Lucknow, furiously struck the mouth of a drum with their shoes in a symbolic act of defiance.

The atmosphere was charged with patriotic fervor as participants raised slogans such as “Trump, you are crazy!” and “Down with Trump!”, blaming foreign economic policies and global corporate exploitation for undermining India’s local markets.

Concluding the march, organizers declared that being “Vocal for Local” is the truest form of patriotism today, and only by boycotting foreign corporations can India achieve strong and sustainable economic growth.
