Assam: A female GST officer was caught accepting a bribe of 4,000 rupees, and over 6.5 million rupees were seized from her house.

On Thursday, the Assam Police exposed a senior corrupt officer. The police apprehended a female officer of the State GST, who had initially accepted a bribe of INR 4,000, and later raided her house, seizing over 6.5 million rupees in cash.

According to the information received, the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Directorate of Assam Police apprehended and arrested Minakshi Kakati Kalita, Assistant Commissioner of State Tax, State GST Office, who had accepted a bribe. During the search, the team seized INR 6,537,500 from her house. A case has been registered against the female officer, and further investigation is underway.
